The Executive Master in Contemporary International Politics and Security Studies is organised by the center "Recherche et Enesignement en Politique Internationale" (REPI) and offers a distinctive interdisciplinary approach to understanding contemporary challenges affecting political and security issues. Held at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), it is conveniently located at the heart of Europe providing students with excellent opportunities for networking and gaining first-hand knowledge of European institutions and dynamics.

 

The programme is intended for individuals who are engaged in a career related to international relations, peace and conflict resolution, in both a governmental and non-governmental context.

 

Courses are taught in English by a multinational staff of academics and practicioners. The MA programme runs for a period of a fifteen months from September to December each year and lectures are held every Friday (6pm to 8pm) and Saturday (9:30am to 1 pm). In addition, seminars are organised one evening per week (6pm to 8 pm) to allow students to debate and discuss in depth thematic issues such as globalisation, state fragility, humanitarian intervention and others.

 

The programme is worth 60 ECTS. Students are required to study units amounting to 30 credits (ECTS) and to complete a dissertation worth 30 credits. Successful students will obtain a certificate at the end of the programme (this certificate cannot be used legally for advancement in Belgian public sector carreer).
